Overview

Skayle uses three taxonomy entities:
  • Categories
  • Tags
  • Authors
These are used in topic generation, content generation, filtering, and publishing.

Collection scope and plan access

  • Taxonomies and authors are currently managed for the Articles collection.
  • Articles are available on all plans.
  • Additional non-article collections require the Authority plan.

Categories and tags

You can:
  • Create and edit categories and tags directly in Skayle
  • Sync taxonomies with your connected CMS (connector-dependent)
  • Assign taxonomies automatically during generation and adjust manually before publishing

Authors

Authors include profile context (name, bio, avatar, social links) and optional auto-assign guidance. Auto-assign guidance is short descriptive context that tells Skayle when an author should be selected (for example by topic type or expertise).

Auto-assignment and manual override

Skayle can suggest taxonomy and author assignments automatically. You can always review and override assignments before publication.

CMS-connected taxonomies

When an external CMS connector is enabled, taxonomy behavior depends on your selected source of truth:
  • Skayle as source of truth: create and edit in Skayle, then sync to CMS.
  • Connector as source of truth: manage in CMS, then sync into Skayle.
In connector-managed mode, some fields are read-only in Skayle except author auto-assign context.

How author context influences content

Author context helps shape:
  • Voice and perspective
  • Subject emphasis
  • Match between topic intent and author expertise
This improves consistency across content items while keeping editorial control in your hands.
